JD Page 1 (2006)
JD came home to the Fly'n CJ Ranch in May of 2006 as a yearling.
We started his groundwork immediately and he took right to it.
A few weeks, some good feed and TLC and he cleans up pretty good!
"Dad can you bring one of the horses to Farm Day tomorrow?" is how this deal started. Our daughter's High School puts on a Farm Day each spring for the area Kindergarten and First grade students. We discussed for a few minutes which horse to take. Jim had the day off so JD got to go. The local newspaper came out and reported over 3500 children attended the 2006 Farm Day held at Littlerock High School. Jim and JD made the front page of the Antelope Valley Press and what amazed us even more was JD's calm and relaxed behavior the whole time. We didn't even know if he would get in the trailer to get there....... JD was stalled next to an older gelding on one side and some weiner pigs on the other. That was a funny sight when JD went to sniff the pigs!!!! All the kids were so amazed that JD was only one year old compared to thier six and seven year olds.
JD attended the July 4th parade in Acton California in 2006.   He is a real ham and I truly believe that he thought everyone along the parade route was there to see him.  He even did well when the F-16's screamed over the parade route!
